When planning your Oktoberfest holiday, before you get too excited about the beer tents, you best get the essentials sorted, and that includes finding a suitable place to stay. Here we’ll recommend you the best hotels and hostels only walking distance to Theresienwiese or Munich central station.
Obviously, Oktoberfest is the busiest time for Munich hotels, so if you plan on staying at a hotel, you best book your reservation long before the festival, pretty much as soon as you know your trip dates. Be prepared to pay higher prices and to be asked to pay for your room in advance.
Last year, up to 77 per cent of Munich hotels are fully booked on the first week of Oktoberfest.
For the optimal hotel to stay, reserve at a hotel close to either the festival or a central station. This means you can walk to the festival and back. Plus the trains from the airports stop here (meaning you can get to the airport easier after the fest), and the city and surrounding region can be explored easily on the U-Bahn.
Check out the range of Munich hotels on www.booking.com, where there’ll be good selection of hotels close to the central station. Booking.com’s online service lists available rooms in real-time.
