Man Loses Car At Oktoberfest
Man loses car at Oktoberfest. Finds it five weeks later.
A man from Italy who visited Oktoberfest has finally been reunited with his car, five weeks after forgetting where he parked it when he left the festival.
Andreas O., 40 years old, left his silver VW Golf parked in a side-street near the festival, before taking a train to the Theresienwiese where Oktoberfest is held.
But after a day of drinking beer, he realised he had forgotten the names of both the street and the tram stop – and had no idea where his vehicle could be.
It took him three more visits to Munich over the five weeks from his home in Bolanzo, Italy, during which he hung posters offering a €200 reward to anyone who could help him find his car.
He finally got good news today when a reader of a local Munich newspaper which ran an appeal on his behalf spotted the car, and driver and vehicle were united again today; 40 days after parking it.
