The Stuttgart Beer Festival (locally known as Cannstatter Volksfest) is the world’s 2nd biggest beer festival with over 4 million people a year visiting the event, held in Stuttgart.

With a similar feel to Oktoberfest – beer tents, traditional food and attire etc – it began in 1818, just 8 years after Oktoberfest. It’s an amazing event and a real hidden gem – hardly any tourists visit and few people outside of Germany know about it, making it a truly unique experience to visit.

Best of all, it is held at about the same time as Oktoberfest, ending 1 week later. So you can see the best of Germany: the beer tents of Munich and Stuttgart.

Day 1, Meet & Greet, Beer Tent Reservations

We’ll have a meet & greet in the hotel foyer where you’ll meet the Thirsty Swagman crew and some of your fellow beer connoisseurs. You’ll also get your Thirsty Swagman welcome pack and all the info you’ll need for your Stuttgart Beer Festival tour.

You’ll have beer tent reservations included at one of the main tents today. These incl. vouchers for dinner and 2 Liters of beer. Your tour guide will take you to the allocated tables, and then it’s Ein Prosit for the rest of the evening.

Day 2, Beer Smorgasbord

Another evening reservation is included today in a different beer tent. Again, this included vouchers for a dinner and 2 Liters of beer and your tour guides will take you from the hotel to our allocated tables. And yes, they stay with the group and enjoy the festivities with you.

During the day you can spend your time as you please, there are dozens of rides and stalls and delicious local food all over the festival grounds. The Mercedes Benz museum is also located just 5 minutes walking from our hotel for any car enthusiasts in our groups.

Day 3, Rides & Beer Gardens

Most people choose to walk around the festival grounds today and enjoy some of the dozens of rides and yummy foods on offer. If the weather is nice, your tour guides will take you to some of the beer gardens at the festival.

Day 4, Check-out from hotel

Now it’s time to check out of your hotel. You’ve just experienced one of the most exciting beer festivals in the world – PROST!

Your Stuttgart Beer Festival tour has ended but that doesn’t mean you have to go back to the real world yet. From here, many of our tour-takers stay in town for a few more days to do some more sightseeing, or they’ll head out to discover more of Germany and Europe.
