Songs at Oktoberfest
Anybody who has ever visited Oktoberfest has seen the beer tents erupting into song and dance. Our favourite songs at Oktoberfest? Here’s our list.
From the “Fliegerlied” to Bavarian renditions of “I Will Survive”, the bands who feature center stage in the tents keep the crowd entertained with Oktoberfest music that puts a smile on everyone’s face. And after every few songs, they’ll sing the beautiful words of “Ein Prosit” (meaning “cheers”) that results in thousands of people raising their beer mugs and taking a drink.
Oktoberfest simply wouldn’t be the same without the music and the bands. Apart from the mostly traditional Bavarian music, which they are required to play by law to preserve the festival’s authenticity, they will even belt out the odd AC/DC or Bon Jovi tune, giving them a unique Bavarian flavour – with tens of thousands of tipsy beer drinkers singing along, it makes for an event like no other.
Oh, and if it’s someone’s birthday, they may even be lucky enough to get the band playing “Happy Birthday” for them, with a packed beer tent of festival-goers joining in.
Our favourite song? “Ein Prosit” of course!
